When should I reserve?

These are very popular activities. Reservations for weekends and vacations should be made 1 to 2 weeks in advance. For any other time, reservations should be made a few days in advance.

Is the activity safe?

Just like any other outdoor activity there is always a little risk, but we have taken all the necessary precautions to make sure you’ll be safe. We provide harness and helmet as safety equipment. During the briefing on the ground, you are taught how to manipulate and handle equipment properly. You are accompanied by a professional guide and you are provided with one continuous lifeline that will secure you the whole Via Feratta.

Can anyone do this activity?

If you can climb a ladder, you can do this activity, so long as the requirements (age, weight, height) are met.

Discover our National Park from an all new perspective! Take your outdoor adventures in a unique mountain experience with our Via Ferrata Laurentides activity. Established and already popular in Europe, “via ferratas” or “iron roads” have been springing up all over Quebec in the last few years.

Located in Mont-Tremblant park, our Via Ferrata Laurentides in Mont-Tremblant promises to be full of surprises! No rock climbing experience is necessary to experience our Via ferrata in Laurentides. A brief course will help you learn the basics of via ferrata before tackling the trail. Clipped into a steel cable that runs the length of the cliff, you will cross a challenging face with built-in steps, handles, beams and various types of bridges while overlooking the meandering Diable River far below. Expect some physical exertion.

All required safety equipment is provided. Inclusions for the excursion are a guide, initiation course, and safety equipment (harness, helmet, and lanyard) as well as Park access fees. THE EXCURSION (3H30)

Our green route is 500 meters long, and the entire experience takes about 3h30, including a 20-minute walk back to the departure point. This activity is open to individuals aged 11 years and older. Our experienced guides will lead you on an unforgettable excursion, clipped in to a steel cable that runs the length of the Vache Noire cliff. After making a 200-meter ascent, there are spectacular views of the mountains and river valley. Expect some physical exertion during the excursion, as well as some adrenaline as you navigate the high terrain.

INTERMEDIATE (5H)

800 metres long (green plus orange routes below), our Via Ferrata – L’intermédiare takes approximately 5 hours including a 1h15 walk back to the departure point. Premiering our National Park’s wildlife reserve, this exciting route is built onto the Vache Noire rock wall. After making a 200-metre ascent, you will be struck by a spectacular view of the mountains and horizon.

THE GRAND TOUR (La Grande Virée) (5h30)

1000 metres long, our Via Ferrata Guided Tour – La Grande Virée takes approximately 5h30 including a 1h30 walk back to the departure point. After making a 200-metre ascent, you will be struck by a spectacular view of the mountains and horizon.

SUNSET TOUR (5H)

800 metres long (green plus orange routes below), our Via Ferrata – Sunset Tour takes approximately 5 hours including a 1h15 walk back to the departure point. On this Via Ferrata mountain trip, you will climb to the highest point of the Vache Noir Mountain on a series of metal steps, log bridges and suspended bridges, just in time to watch the sun set over Mont-Tremblant and the Diable river. You will head back down before dusk.


Know before you book :

  • OUR VIA-FERRATA LAURENTIDES ACTIVITY FILLS UP DAYS IN ADVANCE, reserve early, best is at least 1 week in advance.
  • Minimum 14 years old (Intermediate, The Grand Tour & Sunset tour).
  • Minimum 11 years old (The Excursion).
  • Youths under 17 years old must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Minimum height 4’7″ (1.4m).
  • Minimum weight: 62 lbs (28kg). Maximum: 242 lbs (110kg).
  • Minimum 2 participants.
  • Maximum 8 people per group. Groups larger than 8 will be split up.
  • Pregnant women cannot participate.
  • No rock climbing experience is necessary.
  • Some physical exertion required.
  • 1.5 LITRES OF WATER + SNACKS PER PERSON MANDATORY.
  • Participants must wear CLOSED SPORT SHOES (no sandals), pants (no jeans) and no jewelry.
  • Park access fees are included for adults and are free for youths under 17 years old.

  • We suggest to bring gloves, bug spray, sunscreen and a snack.
  • Please arrive 30 minutes before departure.

  • Our base is 30-40 minutes from Tremblant resort. Approximately a 1h30 drive from Montreal and 2 hours from Ottawa.
  • Duration - The Excursion: Approximately 3h30, including a 20-minute walk back to the departure point.
