Important Information
How are you handling covid?

Our guests' and staffs' safety is of utmost importance to us, both on and off of the bikes. We guarantee sanitized equipment and take care to clean all high-touch surfaces before and after use. We ask that all private tour groups maintain an appropriately distanced space from their tour guide, and we will provide hand sanitizer and masks free of charge. Guests are not required to enter our office to start the tour, but of course are welcome to do so provided they are wearing a mask.

Can I organize to depart from my hotel?

This tour meets at our office, located at Via dei Delfini 35/36, Rome. We are about a 5 minute walk from Piazza Venezia.

What cycling level is required?

The great thing about a private tour is that you can cruise at your own pace! We have a standard itinerary of sites that we'd like to include, but if you want to pedal slower or faster, or spend more or less time at certain monuments, we can make that happen.

We do ask that all participants be comfortable on a bike and riding alongside traffic. You should feel confident with starting and stopping, using hand brakes, and have moderate balance on a bike. There are varying road surfaces in Rome and several cobbled streets. Safety is our number one priority but confidence in yourself is the first step to overall group safety. Your group is welcome to come to our office early to test the bikes should you be feeling nervous.

Would this be a good activity for kids?

We think so! Biking is a wonderful way to discover Rome. We only ask that all children in your group be comfortable riding bikes, have been riding for a while, and can navigate on various surfaces including bumpy streets. We ask that all children under 18 be accompanied by an adult on the tour.

When booking for children, you can reserve the appropriate bike by scrolling down and selecting either a 20" or 24" bike. If your child won't require a smaller bike, simply leave this section blank. Please note that all children's bikes are equipped with hand brakes.

What's the cancellation for a private tour?

We are happy to offer 100% refunds if the Private Tour reservation is cancelled at least 7 days prior to the scheduled tour, less the cost of any non-refundable tickets already acquired (e.g. Colosseum, Vatican, etc.). Inside of 7 days, we will do our best to reschedule your tour based on the availability of equipment, tickets, and tour guides. Once we are within 72 hours of the scheduled tour, we are unable to make any modifications to your tour and we do not offer any refunds.

What if the weather is bad?

As we schedule a specific guide for just your group, it will be tricky to cancel tours last minute, and we plan on running rain or shine. Should you wish to modify the date of your tour due to weather, please reach out to us and we will do our best to accommodate, but unfortunately cannot guarantee availability. Guests are encouraged to consult the weather forecast and dress appropriately. We also have small rain ponchos available free of cost.

Rome gets extremely hot in the summer, so please bring/wear adequate sun protection and staying hydrated. Even if you are accustomed to high temperatures, many Rome establishments do not offer air-conditioning.

Are helmets required?

Helmets are provided for everyone in your group free of charge but are only required for children. Studies have shown that helmets can reduce head injuries by at least 85%.

Can I include entries into museums on my private tour?

The Private Rome Bike Tour does not include entry into any monuments or museums, but we would be happy to accommodate special requests for an additional cost. Please reach out to us before or after booking to inquire about special entries.

What's the best number to reach you if I can't find the meeting point?

If you are having difficulty finding the meeting location for your tour, please call us at +39 338 309 7398 and our staff will be happy to help you find your way.

Is this a good activity for pregnant women?

Pregnant women are strongly discouraged from this bike tour as the pavement in Rome can be quite bumpy.
