Important Information
Has anything changed since Covid?

We are proud to be able to offer the same great tour as pre-pandemic, but we have enhanced our cleaning procedures. All high-touch surfaces (handlebars, seats, etc.) are sanitized before and after each use, and groups are asked to socially distance whenever possible on tour. This tour is fully outdoors, and while guests are welcome to enter our shop to use the restroom/purchase water, they are not required to step inside. Masks and hand sanitizer will be made available for free.

Where is the meeting point?

This tour meets in the corner of Plaça Sant Jaume near the intersection Carrer del Call and Carrer de Sant Honorat near the Starbucks. Your guide will be standing next to a blue bike. The closest metro stations are Jaume I (L4) and Liceu (L3). Be sure to arrive 15 minutes prior to tour departure. Other cycle tours meet in this same plaza, so please confirm that you are with the Fat Tire Bike Tours group.

Is the cost of food and drink included in the price?

We will stop at a relaxing beach bar a little over half-way through the tour. You are welcome to purchase drinks, snacks and/or lunch, but the cost is not included in the price. This is a great opportunity to get to know the others in your group, ask your guide questions about what else to see and do in Barcelona, and relax with your toes in the sand.

Is this a good tour for kids?

Absolutely! Children of all ages and abilities are welcome on our tours. We have smaller bikes and kid accessories to allow children to join easily and safely. We have baby seats for infants 11 months and older weighing under 22kgs/48lbs. Children using a baby seat must be able to support the weight of their own head. We also have single-wheeled tag-a-long tandems for kids up to 10 years old weighing less than 32kg/70lbs. For children riding independently, we have 20" & 24" frames available. Our 20" frame is recommended for kids 6-12 years old while our 24" frame is great for kids who are 9+. Our adult bikes are 26" frames with a step-through crossbar making them easy for taller kids to ride. Helmets are also available to all free of charge and mandatory for anyone under 16 years old.

What kind of bikes do you have?

Our bikes are among the most comfortable you'll ever ride! We have a standard 26" frame city bike with a step-through top tube making it easy to start and stop. All of our bikes have adjustable seats and handlebars and our team is happy to help you adjust everything before the tour starts. Our bikes also have luggage racks and bungee cords on the back, perfect for strapping down water bottles and small bags. If you'd like to know more about our kids' bike options, check out our FAQ about children participating in this tour.

Is there water and a restroom at your office?

Yes! We have water bottles for sale, a station where you can refill your own water bottle for free, and a small public bathroom that is free and clean.

Will we go inside of the Sagrada Familia or other monuments?

Unfortunately, this four-hour bike tour won't give us enough time to see the inside of any of the museums and monuments that we'll point out on tour. We will, however, stop for a few minutes outside of each site so that your guide can provide you with the history of the landmark, allow you to take pictures, and depending on the stop, give you some free time to walk around. Our guides' mission to bring Barcelona to life, and they will provide you with all of the information you need to understand the history of these beautiful structures and the know-how to go back on your own to visit the ones that interest you most.

Can I just join for a portion of the tour?

We wish that we could accommodate every request, but we'll need to ensure that the group departs and returns to our office altogether. If you're running late, don't hesitate to give us a call at +34.9.33.42.92.75. If you'd like a shorter version of this tour, please inquire at support@fattiretours.com. Otherwise, we'll kindly ask that you plan on being available for the duration of the tour, and scheduling other activities either before or after.

Is the ride strenuous?

Not at all. Our Barcelona Bike Tour covers approximately 11km/7mi and includes virtually no hills. We do ask that all participants be able to ride a bike. Guests should be able to start and stop with confidence, be familiar with hand brakes, and be aware that some riding in and alongside of traffic will be included in the tour, even though the majority of our ride will be on bike lanes and through parks.

What is the cancellation policy?

We’re happy to offer free changes and 100% refund up to 24 hours before tour departure. Failure to cancel a reservation at least 24 hours prior to scheduled departure may result in forfeited travel funds. Fare difference may apply.

What if it rains; will the tour still take place?

All of our tours operate rain or shine, and we have rain ponchos available in our office for purchase (fully refunded if not used).

Can I store my luggage at your office?

Of course! You are welcome to leave your bags in our secure office for the duration of your tour.
