Hit All the Highlights with the Classic Paris Walking Tour
Want a complete overview of Paris while avoiding the metro and buses? If you have the stamina to stroll with us for a few hours, we would love to show you our hometown and all of the secrets that you might pass by on your own. Virtually every major site in the city center is covered during this walk so we know that you’ll leave with a fantastic orientation and a new appreciation for the ‘City of Light’.
Starting near the icon of Paris, we’ll kick things off with amazing photo opportunities and stories about la Dame de fer, or more commonly, the Eiffel Tower. From here we’ll make our way around the Hôtel des Invalides, passing through the inner courtyard to discover the statue of a very famous French general. Your personal guide will point out a few other attributes hidden in the architecture of this beautiful landmark.
The thoroughfare linking Invalides with the famous Alexandre III bridge grants the perfect opportunity to get to know your guide, group, and ask questions about how to best take advantage of everything that Paris has to offer. Upon reaching the river Seine, you’ll have amazing angles of the Eiffel Tower and the Grand & Petit Palais; perfect for that one picture to capture it all.
Crossing over to the right bank, your guide will explain the neighborhoods in Paris and give you insider’s tips on where to go for each craving and cultural adventure. We’ll continue towards Place de la Concorde, home to the French Revolution, the finalé of the Tour de France, and the hottest designers during Paris Fashion Week. This is a great vantage point to take in the Arc de Triomphe, the Champs Elysées, and the Tuileries Gardens.
We’ll press on towards the Louvre, not wanting to miss this behemoth of an art collection. Should you wish, your guide can help you navigate getting into the museum and point you in the direction of the highlights so as to make the most of your time. Or if you prefer, you can also relax at a nearby café following the tour, as we’ll wrap up in a bustling area in the middle of the city. You will leave having a deeper understanding of Parisian landmarks, a greater appreciation for the history of this beautiful city, and more confidence when navigating on your own.
